I would like to build my own CPU which is geared more towards entertainment. Mayb like watching movies, playing games and stuff.
What are some of the parts do i need to buy ?
Roughly how much everything costs ?
Is Creative GigaWorks T3 worth buying ?
And your budget is?
hmm.. let's juz say money is not a factor.
i juz wna noe roughly how much it would cost for the whole thing done up
Since it's more towards playing games & entertainment, then you might need to splash a bit for the graphic...
Take mine for example:
Intel C2D E7300 2.66Ghz
Gigabyte EP43-D3SL
Kingston 2Gb 800Mhz ram
Seagate 320Gb
Coolermaster xtreme power 460W
Casing + Vista Home Premium
+ ATI 4850 under $1k...
If budget is no problem then put a bit more into sound department lor...
End of the day you can get quite a good one for under 1.5k + ur speaker & Flat display...
But warranty is either component warranty or provided by the shop u brought it from...
Might wanna wait for window 7 if u want... or get a quad core or i7

With everything nicely beefed up, it will be around $6,000. Maybe our little Pillow could come over and give you a detailed breakdown for this (he always have this nitrogen-cooled system in mind), or you may want to check out some of the SLS pricelists online to do your own research.

Entertainment
What you need might be HDMI. The ATI radeon HD series will do 1080p
For movies all these the 3800 series will do you well,if into latest games, the 4850 or 4870. Powercolor graphics card are cheaper, however, i heard that there are RMA issues.
If budget allows, get Quadcore, if nt dualcore will be fine
HDD bigger if u are storing movies, speaking of that, if you are into 1terabyte HDD, the msi mobos have some bios problem. Today i was just flashing the bios of the MSI mobo, cos the bios dun support 1 Terabyte
hmm thx for the tips guys
