unable to turn on computer (?)

as topic. shut down the computer before going out, and after i came back, the computer just would not be turned on. the cpu stills run with the usual beeping sound, but the lcd screen's indicator light just keeps flashing (the one that shows whether the screen is on/off).
what is wrong with the computer?

Lcd light flashing meaning the monitor is not in synch with PC... Do u see anything on the screen, like ram test...etc when power up?
I think u can follow the following steps to isolate the problem:
1) Power off the PC. Remove all the ram except 1, if there is only 1 ram, swap to other slot. Power up and try, if does not work try step 2.
2) Power off the PC. Replace a working graphic card and try again, as long as u can see something display on the monitor, it means ur graphics card is working. U might want to try swap to another available slot if u do not have extra graphic card to test if the slot is the issue.
3) Check the CPU fan is turning or not when u power up the PC. Chances of this is low cos the PC is power down for some time, so overheat issue is unlikely. But not harm checking on this
4) If neither of the steps work, i believe might be the motherboard related problem. It would be wise u let someone familiar with pc hardware to handle ur issues or u might risk getting more things damage.
Conclusion: Most likely is hardware issues, i will narrow it down to mb and graphics card that would be the likely causes. Hope this helps!

this happened before once just today, but i restarted the computer and it was resolved...
anymore opinions?

my perm comp on liao always show that 'start windows normally' etc that screen. then i select that, it will load normally, then at the 'Windows XP' start up screen, it restarts and goes back to the start windows normally screen..... now using sp comp.

Most likely ur hdd is up lorry liao... personal experience, maybe u can try reformat if there is not much impt info in ur hdd...

i guess one of ur hardware is going to up lorry v v soon... matter of time. Hard to give u advice base on the info, anyway gd luck!

er, i swapped the screens of this computer and my other computer, and apparently the problem lies in the lcd screen.
definitely not a wire fuse since there still power supply....
lucky still got warranty..btw CRT screens wear out faster or do LCD screens wear out faster?

wait... a beeping sound?
Normally when the CPU gives a beeping sound, it's the RAM. Perhaps try taking out the ram and remove the dirt.
but btw, if ur com is spoilt, y r u still using it?!

Take out the ram and clean the contacts
