I am now using VirtualBox...free...but USB and wireless not well supported....have to be adventurous in using other methods/software to make them work.
VMware is one of the most established players in the market right now...I know VMware needs to pay...but I dunno if this ESX server U are talking about is free or not.
Microsoft...err...

VMware ESX Server is mainly design for clustering and you need to pay for it.
Solutions for what?
What solutions you expect by virtualize your server ?
We virtualise a few servers at work and it pays dividends in many ways.
We can move virtual servers between physical servers with a few mouse clicks. We can spin up new instances with ease and you can create snapshots and go back to them when / if you need.
We run MS but are considering moving to VMware because we cannot run Hyper-V on our older servers at the moment.
Virtualisation works better if you have a SAN to share between physical servers when it comes to moving virtualised servers between boxes but you can also get away with just copying the vm disk however this is much much slower (but cheap and anyone can set this up).
haha
we just virtualize client side ...
questions : any of the virtual machine that can support full video cap? I currently using virtualbox and the video adapter is just a basic emulated low end device. Anyway to improve on that? Thanks
