Hmm now the PC im currently using is connecting to the internet using the mio box router.
So just now,i got a D-link router for another of my PC and i tried to connect it the wireless network of the mio box..but it cant work. I dunno whether im doing the right thing or not so im here asking for some help.
Just in case u dont understand what im talking abt above which i myself dont really understand either, here's a qick summary of the problem i have:
-bought a d-link router for my brother's PC
-tried to connect the router and use the wireless internet connection from the mio box router which is connected to the PC im using now.
-but cannot because i totally have no clue what im doing even though i have read the manual.
So..help?
1 did your brother PC detect the wireless network?
2 if so, go to your own connected PC< go to the router address (gateway.2wire.net or sth)
3 go to the page where all the wireless devices are
4 type in your new router wifi address
another way i did was to disable MAC filtering, allow new PC to connect, and enable mac filtering again..
Why do you need a d-link router to connect to a wireless network? All your brother's PC needs is a wireless adapter and you should be able to connect to your mio wireless router, assuming that your wireless router is configured properly.

I got the router for free :DĀ
so can i use the router in place of a wireless adapter? Because the pc doesnt have a wireless adapterĀ
I'm not familiar with mio router but I assume it's a wifi type router.
So you and your brother both can connect to this router through wifi and that's it. Or through wire if your brother's PC and the router supports it.
Keep the d-link. You won't need it and it won't help u in your case. So your brother's PC needs to connect either via LAN cable or wifi. If you choose wifi, his PC will need to have a wireless adapter.
