Hmm i just downloaded a movie from the internet and its file format is .avi . I want to burn it so i can watch it on my dvd player but i dont really know how.
Can anyone guide me on this?
BTW the DVD-R i bought is 4.7GB/120min. What does that means? Can store up to 4.7Gb but only got a maximum time of 120minutes?
Well, my LG DVD can play .avi file, that means i just have to right click the file and select send to the disc drive
The 4.7gb thingy i am not so sure, i think it meant 4.7gb or 120 min, usually i will take the gb size as a guide, as 120min of high quality video might take up 4.7gb, whereas 150min of average quality video might also take up 4.7gb
I not so sure though for teh size
U can try using Nero software to burn
DVD-Video store the videos as either mpeg1 or mpeg2 and are limited to 9.8Mbit/s which is 1.2MB/s, but the standard bit-rate is usually 4-5Mbit/s, which gives you your 120 minutes. Because you're able to record to DVD-Video at variable bit-rates the 120 minutes is just an average. You'd probably get 120 minutes of TV onto it.
MPT you're burning it as a data dvd which not all dvd players will play. There's quite a few programs out there (available for download) that will record avi videos to DVD properly... google

whichever comes first.
if u store data, then u can store a maxmum of 4.7gb of data. if ur storing songs or movies then it depends if the 4.7gb capacity is reached first or ur movie runs over 2hrs first.
