Damn, this whole xBox Live **** really sucks. Must I get a CCNA or some
networking degree or PhD before I can setup my xBox Live?
What I did today was:
1) Connect my broadband modem (Samsung SCM-140) to my console.
The modem is NOT connected to the PC......only modem and console.
2) I start-up my console, turn on my modem, went to my xBox Live
Marketplace dashboard, but it gives an error saying it can't detect my
connection! I did the Network Connection Test and it can't even get
past the very first test. The info says "Disconnected".
Am I doing something wrong? Do you have to connect modem to PC to
console or something? Or is some modems like Samsung SCM-140 not
supported?
My ISP is Starhub 8Mpbs MaxOnline.
Also, do I need some network card or something?
Also, I hope I don't need to enter any DNS crap or IP settings....this is beyond me.
Thanks!
So when you plug the modem into a PC, does the connection work? If you're looking for DNS settings to set up the internet connection for your Xbox, here's some details to take note of:
thanks for your reply! are you using Samsung SCM-140 (for xBox Live, maybe) too?
yes, the modem works perfectly fine with my PC, but when I connect it to xBox 360, it can't detect any network connection at all.
i'll try your DNS numbers first.
btw, when u guys connect to xBox Live, do you manually type in the numbers (PPPoE, DNS, IP and all these ****)?
i thought it's auto-detected?
