Well, anyone can tell me the difference between motherboard?
Did some research, and found out that there's the LGA 775 socket for the intel/amd socket. Lets not talk about the Icore7 from intell.
Want to know the difference between P45 and P35 motherboard. What are the real difference? My friend told me that P45 can use extrem Intel CPU, whereas P35 cannot.
My question is what's the big difference between P35 and P45?
Want to build a simple system (not really for gaming)
For surfing internet and listening music, watching movies/dramas. Dont want it to be lag, not intending to do OC also. It's for my friend. Below is the spec
E8400 3Ghz (I am not sure if i need such good CPU for just simple usage? I dont want AMD, anyone can suggest i can downgrade to what CPU? This CPU I'm using it for extreme gaming and without OC it's not lag, doing me good. So i recommend this to my friend)
Andyson silent power 500w
Casing CM330
Graphic card Palit 4670 (What are the other graphic card i can consider? Games like warcraft, maple story all this low end graphic, I am thinking a 3870/3850 will be good enough or maybe 9600, and again, what's the diff between 9600 and 4670?)
Seagate 500gb
Kingston DDR2 2GB (Should i get 2x1gb ram? dual channel, should i get better ram? improve speed? Cuz it's not really a gaming com)
LG monitor 19" LG L1953S
Total cost calculated excluding OS/Mouse/KB - $1.1K
a simple system..
thats more of a mid-gamer system than a simple one..
i can recommend really simple ones..
pentium dual core E5200 (2.5Ghz) (yes, slow but its not exactly laggy. and its only light computing, as u mentioned.)
2gb ddr2 667mhz ram (this is the minimum amount and speed you must have, presuming its vista ur using.)
powercolor ati radeon hd3450 (does the job just fine, but if you want something more up to date, you can get the hd4550. good price, and only 35w consumption on load.)
320gb 7200rpm hdd shd be more than enuff for normal use..
cooler master 450w psu.
these are the parts i recommend, pair it with your casing, and a mobo of your choice, and your lcd.

any idea how much will such a system cost?
tgt with his casing, shd be ard 800-900.
Hmmm? Alrights, perhaps the CPU can get the E5200, 100bucks difference.
Ram getting kingston, cheaper. No need for performance ram.
graphics card - Both brands are palit
HD4670 512mb ddr3 $132
GF-9600 512mb ddr3 $159
What are the two difference? HD4670 run ATI, and 9600 run geforce. What are the main difference? I think its just a personal liking to which one. But comparing 4670 and 9600, which is better? I assume 9600 is better?

Quoted from the website "
The P45 is just a refresh of the P35; with the only differences being the PCIe 2.0 support and ICHR10/ICHR10R.
I'd love to get excited about a new chipset - and believe me, I would - if there were any revolutionary features."
Well for gaming wise, people recommand gamers to use the higher end core 2 duos.
For simple usage, a core 2 duo, no need be the 8xxx series, maybe the 7300 will be enough.
Core2 Duo E7300 2.66 Ghz ( 1066 / 3M )
Core2 Duo E8400 3.0 Ghz ( 1333 / 6M )
The difference is the front side bus and L2 cache level. FOr normal use the 7300 is enough. Even for simple, not hardcore gaming, the 7300 should be enough
For simple gaming, any of the the 9600 or 4670 is enough.

go do some comparison
If you are building a system, for that budget, i think u can get something midrange. Following the pricing by bellsystems on 6 of december, i configed the following system for you as a reference
ASUS P5Q-SE/R intel P45 RAID w/8.CH Sound+G.Lan + Q6600 = $498
Hitachi 500gb HDD = $90
ASUS HD4670 512Mb DDR3=$149
Kingston DDR2-800 CL5=$34
LG Sata DVD drive = $38
AERO HorsePower 500W - 2Y= $115
Lets say case cost $150
Total cost around $1074
See with that amount, u can get an entry level quadcore
If you change to a 4850 graphic card, just add in $100, costing $1174
but even then, simple gaming, dun need 4670 ba..
Thanks MyPillowTalks , you save my day!
