hey all, i have a problem with the installation of msn messenger. this problem took place when i was repeatedly unable to sign in to msn. i uninstalled it and tried to reinstall the program but it would not work. it always displays the same message of "sorry, this is taking longer than expected etc etc". right after that, the error message will be displayed. can anyone help me with this?
Something to do either with the program or your internet settings..........Is MSN being blocked by your firewall or something?
Try upgrading your windows to a later version like XP with service pack 2.
im currently on xp service pack 3. i checked my windows firewall settings and have already places windows live messenger under the exceptions portion. still, i'm having problems with the installation. any further help? thanks for the last 2 tips though.
try to off your firewall and try it.. maybe will help ^^
or ur antivirus.. nowadays many antivirus has built in firewall.
set the firewall to allow msn to go thru.
what firewall u using?
i had only checked the windows firewall settings (the one under control panel--->windows firewall etc etc) and placed an exception for windows live messenger. installation still failed. i tried turning the firewall off but it still failed. i'm currently using the norton antivirus 2008. perhaps it could be my anti-virus interfering with it?
