Ok. I used to be able to connect to the internet through my router, both wireless and cable.
But last night I had a problem with Garena cilent (can't log in), and when i surfed the forums i found out most starhub users also cant log in. So i call them up and ask them about it. They suggested I bypass my router and get the internet straight from my modem, obtaining ip and dns automatically. I can get the internet to my com but still cant log in to the cilent.
Afterwards, I tried to revert back to using my router as my brother will be needing the internet as well and it's not possible for me to hog the cable. But I can't seem to connect to the internet when I'm connect via lan cable through the router. It shows I'm connected but something wrong with the dns I think.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad langauge. Not pro in tech stuff.
Ps. Anyone knows how to solve the Garena Cilent problem too? The other users are saying about a gateway being down. Bnet can't be logged in too.
No one knows how to solve? HELP!
To check if dns is the problem, do the following:
1) goto Run, type cmd
2) in cmd, type ipconfig /flushdns
3) next, type ping www.cnn.com, if it shows the ip address, then your dns is ok. Else you will probably see some error about failure to resolve address.
ok. My dns is the problem. Any help solving it?
Assuming you are using Win XP or later, you can try right click on your connection icon in your systray and select repair connection.
No use. They ask me to contact my network admin for vista case and nothing happened on xp case. Xp case just show the com goes through the whole process but in the end also cannot connect.
Anymore help? Thanks
Go into cmd again and type ipconfig /all and paste result here.
Maybe resetting the router to factory setting?
