But I'm working on windows vista. SO when I go to save as, it only shows me the different versions of the word document to be saved.
hrmm~
try C drive \ documents and settings \
there should be a temporary internet file folder there~
alternatively, screen for recent documents, any recent doc opened will be under recent documents~
go to recent documents something
see the recently opened document

1. open word from email
2. type something
3. save as "very unique"
4. close
5 pull up search and search for "very unique"
6 your file should be in the same folder as "very unique"

somewhere in the document you save. than search all the directories, including the text of documents.
windows remember the last 4 doc that u use.
u can reopen the last 4 doc that u do under the icon "file"
1) Start Icon
2) Recent Items Icon
Within 'Recent Items' you should find a list of recently opened files.
If you open Microsoft word,
1) On the top left hand, you see the......
2) Office Button (ie the start button), you find list of recently opened Words files.
In XP, it would most likely be found in the TEMP folder. Not sure it's the same for Vista, but you may want to give it a try anyway.
Press Windows+R, enter %TEMP%. It should display the TEMP folder for your Windows username. Conduct a file search in there for your documents. If there's an option for "word processing, spreadsheet", check it to narrow down the search.
Should be in the Temporary Internet Folder. That folder is hidden. Set Windows to show hidden files and folders.
XP - C:\Documents and Settings\Your Windows Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
Vista should be here - C:\Users\Your Windows Username\AppData\Local\Temp
If you can't find, open it directly via your mail client (don't choose the Save option)
When the document opens, click on File > Save As
Make a note of where the file could be found, then attempt to navigate manually to it.
