4870x2 cause comp to hang at mobo screen

Im helping a fren build comp
Specs:
Q9550 with MSI X48C Platinum motherboard
Corsair XMS2 4gb Dual channel kit
Antec 1K watts PSU
seagate barracuda 1 tb HDD
HIS 4870x2
I found out that when i put in the 4870x2, with a ps2 keyboard, the computer will hang at the screen which shows tthe brand of the mobo,, which is my MSI x48C platinum
When i took out the 4870x2, and use the PS2 mouse, the keyboard can work, and i dun have an extra card to test
mobo is no onbard graphic also
USB keyboard cannot work with or w/o grphic card
How? I need the solve the prob ASAP
The shop owner told me that i need to flash the biios, but i cannt boot up

I built for a fren
foudn out the problem already, processor too new for bios, i brought my processor down to his house, install windows and flash the bios, then can use his processor already

not exactly processor lar, in a way yescos the processor is too new for the mobo to support, that is why need to update the bios

i also encounter the same problem. bios issue. gotta use a supported processor first before upgrading the bios. then i can use the latest processor. this is the main problem when we want to DIY.
