Which method speeds up the comp more?

  Which one is more effecting in speeding up the computer?

  1) uninstalling most unwanted documents.

   

  2) reinstall xp. I think it is called reformating - wld reformating cause the hardware to work more, thus slow the computer down?

  My lappie is starting to slow down these days.

   

  Must be the tons of shit programs I download and stuff onto it.

   

  Still, I need it to go faster.

   

  Any ideas?

  Uninstall unnecessary programs. Defrag harddisk.

  user recovery CD or DVD so that reinstall would be much easier.

  I promised LPX i will be back here.

  So here I am.

   

  Most Pc(s)/Laptops from OEM manufactuers do not come with Recovery discs.

  You will have to burn them yourself.

  or.

  Use the built in reformatting software.

   

  - Defrag, 

  -Use CCleaner.

  -Remove unwanted programmes.

  he said to format my HDD and install Linux

  Last time, one of my pals decided to be smart and clean up her lappie.

   

  End up cleaning too much until the lappie doesn't boot properly.

   

  She cried for half an hour.

   

  True story.

  Very inconvinent + lots of things you will have to backup, like songs ect.

  Later if you forget to save an important file - then - Regret. - then tech forum - then Mods will tell you go download -pci file recovery- and you must search, and there is a high chance that you will not get to undelete that file.

  Soon the whole laptop/desktop will be full of junk again.
