My laptop have no optical drive so now i copy my cd files to my thumb drive...i trying to install a game but it ask me to insert a disk to play..anyway to copy or any solution can be done?
just asking... ever thought of getting yourself a USB optical drive..?
If you could get a CD image (.iso file) then you could find a program that can mount that image into a fake cdrom drive.
If you are using Win XP, u can try this http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/620/xp_small_free_way_to_use_and_mount_images_iso_files_without_burning_them/
Or you can try this one. http://www.elby.ch/fun/software/index.html
Or this one. http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html
like the other have said....there are lots of software around that simulates a CD-ROM drive...whether ur game has software to prevent its usage is another story hor...
A common one would be daemon tools.

Daemon Tools uses rootkit technology so your antivirus might kpkb.
How about using iso images and mount as a cdrom? I cannot remember the name of the software to install.
Alternatively, get an external DVD or CDROM drive.
Maybe can try to write protect your thumb drive.

pls correct me if I am wrong....but I tot a thumb drive is not meant for constant read access? It can be done but it will shorten its lifespan?
The only people I know using thumb drives on constant read/write access are people using USB Live...
