Anybody know where to get compressed air? Its supposed to be used for cleaning ur computer of dust to prevent overheating.
Im not very sure where to get compressed air, uy can try hardware shops to ask around
i feel that buying compresses air is redundant, as the dust can be easily cleaned off using a brush that children use to draw with, get those with a 'stronger' brush at the front
i use it to clean off dust from the circuit boards, and the thin structure of the brush body manages to squeeze into narrower space between the fan and heatsink

If you absolutely have to use a paint brush to remove the dust, use a small one. Otherwise, you may risk zapping your motherboard to death with static electricity.
me has to clean a lot of crud out of heatsink spaces.. tried vacuum cleaner, dont work. but since the heatsink is completely aluminium, does that mean i can wash it? i dont mind spraying it down with a garden hose if i can.
but using a brush would cause static...
so id prefer using compressed air, to be safe..
u think DIY shop has it??
probably
but it isnt cheap.. especially when if u got access to a tire pump at gas stations..
;/ tire pump need pay money???
u go to the attendant and show them a heatsink, then ask how much to blast the shit outta this thing
Attendant: *picks up phone* ~calls police to escort me to IMH
If u can take the thing out, why cant u jus wash it? Afterall its suppose to be aluminium... On my old computer the video card gets quite hot... last time use to put ice on the heat sink haha... so far nothing happen..
SO yeah, i will say wash it... If rust means ur heat sink is fake... Just have to reapply the grease after taht...
gg then
i havent tried.. im gonna try this on my pe teacher.. ask if can borrow the ball pump to pump the crud outtamy heatsink
WTF?! WASH?
i dun wan risk it to rust.. not worth just to buy a new one, after all.. im just helping a fren to revive his PC, and since he asked for it, run linux on it

i scared mine is fake. not i buy my pc.
dad buy for me. and dad like fake. lol.
btw, just ytd i cleaned my pc, it was fine
then i havent put back the cover,
accidentally shocked my hard disk. the under part.

army market used to sell small cylinders of compressed air for army inflatable life jackets....not sure if they sell it now...
if U need to use a lot...scuba tank is also compressed air....
but hell....why dont U just bring watever that U want to use it on to a petrol station and use the air pump there?free....just make sure that U dont blow up the station can already.

I flush my heatsink under running water.
Folks wanting to do this should always remember to remove the fan first.
Not forgetting heatsink grease to spread over the processor before attaching the heatsink.
just saw yest challenger got alot but i nvr see price.
