keep auto-rebooting, a few times a night zzzzz......

this problem happened after i subscribed to Mobtv.

after i subscribed to Mobtv
i had to upgrade my window media player
also had to click something which supposedly help me rename the "DRM" file
coincidentally java also was prompting me for a update download
so i did these things
also coincidentally, my C drive left only 12% of whole capacity
ideally it should have at least 15% (this is what defrag told me, when i tried to defrag, a window opened up to say that for the porgramme to work effectively, i need to at least have 15% of total capacity on that drive)

then
after that i keep having the auto-rebooting problem
each time will have a blue screen with words come out
i cannot printscreen (or maybe I can? next time i will try)

so i uninstall a few things to create space on my C drive
in the hope that it will bcome more stable
but i cannot reverse the steps for window media player and the DRM renaming........

anyway, the auto rebooting problem is still there

mayi, kenn3th, anybody... can help? what must i do? (besides reformatting....i dun wan to reformat!!!)

i have even unstalled the mobtv download manager
but still the same.............

This is an update, good news!!! And I want to solve the new mystery, this is what happened:-

After all the problems, i left my lappie alone and never touched it for 2 weeks

then on Sunday night I had to download some pictures from my camera
so i tried to use my lappie again

i turned it on and used it as per normal
it was ALL OKAY ler, by itself!!!!!
all the previous probelms, NO MORE!!!

now my question is
why like that?
what might have happened?

can anybody please enlighten me of the mystery of the computer???

probably it is rebelling? scarcely the problems come back after a day? or they could have healed...

1. Lack of hard disk space shouldn't cause auto reboot problems. Not that I heard of.

2. Please tell me if you hibernate or shut down your computer.

Shut down and hibernate the computer looks the same to some, but is actually different. Based on this sentence, I suspect that you're hibernating your PC, causing the disk space to dwindle.

After all the problems, i left my lappie alone and never touched it for 2 weeks

Since it happens once in a while, please answer the question posted first.

Blue screen = cannot print screen. Windows crashed.

Please do the following favour for me by reading this topic and post the error next time it happens - http://www.sgforums.com/forums/2250/topics/311288

1. Disable Windows from restarting when blue screen of death occurs

2. When it occurs, write down the error and post back

mayi i disabled windows from restarting ler
now waiting for it to crash hahaha

but hor
if it crashes again and then it doesn't auto restart any more
how do i make it start after i copy down the error?

is it shut down, and then on again
then it will restart ler?

Either power off the PC or press reset button to restart your PC. Windows blue screen of death could be due to software ( buggy applications, windows file corruptions, corrupted windows registry or rootkits ) or hardware ( bad memory, temperature, harddisk )

Please download gmer.zip from Gmer and save it to your desktop.

Right click on gmer.zip and select Extract All....
Click Next on seeing the Welcome to the Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard.
Click on the Browse button. Click on Desktop. Then click OK.
Click Next. It will start extracting.
Once done, check (tick) the Show extracted files box and click Finish.

Double click on gmer.exe to run it. It will start running a scan. If it detects rootkit activity, you will receive a prompt to run a full scan. Click Yes.

When done, you may receive another notice. Click OK.
Click on Save ... to save a log.
Copy and paste in Gmer.txt and click Save.
Close Gmer.

If you receive no notice, click on the Scan button.

It will start scanning again.

Haha, i was mia that time.

It's a driver issue.

i think what mayi was trying to do was to find the debuglog.

normally the address will show which driver has the specific problem

i still want to fix the lappie leh (Thinkpad T41)
