motherboard i would recommend Gigabyte. get an Intel processor if possible. do you need a graphic card?
hmmz, the one that I listed has 4 ram slots, so no issue on the number of slots I guess.
yeah xp no need 3gb ram, but ram so cheap now anyway. take for bette rgaming/ multitasking + can upgrade to vista if need.
why intel processor? I was told the only diff is that intel is slightly faster, but the cost is like much higher....

haha. it's ok as some people have likings for AMD. i don't mind, although i personally prefer Intel to AMD as i have compared the performance of AMD to Intel since my primary school times.
icic thanks.

Pay a couple of bucks more and get a Seagate or Hitachi HDD instead.

Hmm...but if he's not overclocking, and the ports on the motherboard (PCIe, DDR2 etc) is enough for his needs, then I think it should be ok to stay with Palit.

definitely not overclocking. as you can see over the alst few posts, I'm very noob at PCs, how to over clock lol

haha. not sure mine going to overclock or not...
besides price and gaming performance, do keep in mind that AMD processors generate more heat than Intel ones.
