does anyone know?
Integrated IGP which pull from system ram, if i increase it, will i get a nice performance boost?
currently 2 Gb DDR 2 dual channel symettric. Thinking of adding another 1GB more.
It probably won't make a big difference; it's like adding more memory to a Pentium II system. If you're using the laptop for gaming, it would be the best if you could send it in to a service center to upgrade the graphics card.
my qn is since this IGP pull from system ram, will adding more ram enable it to display graphics at smooth framerates at higher resolutions?
It'll make ur system run faster now that both IGP & processor have enough ram... frame rate high oso not enough to notice... wat game btw?
I have stopped gaming in the year 2001. The era of the Geforce 2. Desktop was over for me and it was allt he way laptops till now. But last i know during those times, it was like Vram had to be high to support higher resolution.
Intel x3100 is not a deidicated GPU, it is a IGP which shares system ram. so increasing it will be like increasing the vram of the system too right?
reason for me asking.
the game is Company of Heroes. IT runs well on the IGP.

The amount of memory the integrated graphics card uses doesn't automatically increase when you add more memory to your system - you'll need to configure it via the BIOS.
But as I have mentioned, it will only bring about a slight boost, if not none, to its performance since the bottleneck in this case is probably not memory but its graphics processing capability.

i think the x3100 is resolution limited. anyway thanks for yr input.
