My office will be replacing the current notebooks in use now with either HP2510p or HP6910p.
I checked the HP website and noted that the latter is no longer on sale. Also that the former has a smaller sized monitor.
The former comes with a DVD +/-RW SuperMulti with Double Layer, but the latter just has a DVD/CD-RW Multibay II combo. Does it mean that the latter can only be used for CD rewritable and not DVD?
I am in a dilemma as to which model to opt for. Can anyone advise please?
Specifications of both note books - ram , os, gpu ect ect.
HP 2510p - Intel Core2 Duo LV 1.6Ghz, 4MB L2 Cache
HP 6910p - Intel Core2 Duo T8100 (2.1 Ghz)
Both have the same 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
For OS, my company is using Windows XP.
My concern is that HP 2510p has a 12.1-inch display, which may cause the user to strain his eyes for prolong use.
I wonder if HP 6910p is a sunset product.
go for the T8100.
Overall, it's better, in terms of processor wise. the T8100 is just released this May. And it definitely performs much better than the 2510P, although the 2510P consumes less electricity with it's Low voltage processor. Heck it, why must you even save electricity for your company anyways? (both laptops are energy star qualified) thus you need not really worry much.
A 14.1Inch screen would prove to be a better choice if you are always typing minutes/ doing proposals (ect) with you laptop. you wouldnt want to be stuck with the wrong choice for @ least 3 years. (like most companies do)
Both 2510P and 6910P are still on sale on the Hp's website.

need not worry about support, as warranty does too cover laptops that are discontinued.
One more question, How often do you burn cds/ dvds?
