Completely new interface. It's not really meant for XP. The interface looks ugly there.
Screenshots later.

so it is made for vista? =/
siao liao.. i dl le.. cannot use..
Why? Can use, thing is, it's freaking ugly on XP.
On Vista, it looks nicer.
OK.
A quick overview of the new stuffs.
1. You are able to sign in to MSN on multiple computers.
Notice the 2 places at the top? That's the new multiple sign-ins. Present since private beta.
2. See the Favourites? Again, new. Favourites, like its name, is all favourite stuffs at one place.
3. See the top. Whereas previously the most one could change is the colour, you could now use background. Microsoft calls it Scene. Mouse over to the top right hand corner of the background, you will see a brush. Click on that to change the background.
4. Animated avatar. There are a couple of animated avatars in the options which you can select. I'm using the shooting stars. Screenshot can't show it. Hehe
5. What's New at the bottom. Basically tells you what your contacts have been doing. Post a note seems quite useless for now. Can't get it working.
6. PhotoIM. No idea what is that. MSN help is useless, but I suspect it's related to sharing photos.
7. Signature Sound. As it is named. Something that will identify you.
8. Groups and categories. It's like folders and files.
Groups = folders in Windows
Categories = sub folders
Contacts = files
For neat freaks, me thinks.
Example:
Group - Friend
Category 1 - Primary
Category 2 - Secondary
Category 3 - Poly
Category 4 - Uni
Things that have changed.
1. Viewing of contacts. What's wrong with viewing contacts by their email address?
2. Number of status. Reduced by quite a bit. Following Yahoo Messenger, lesser is better. But unlike Yahoo Messenger, it lacks the ability to add more statuses.
3. Messenger icon near the clock. One word - UGLY.
Screenshot from Vista. See the difference between XP and Vista. Vista picture is clearer, font is clearer.

Nope. It works on XP, just that it looks nicer on Vista.
I can't sign in after signing in with my account the first time.. Google-ed it up, and realized that everyone seems to be having the same problem, they can't sign in with the same Windows Live ID on the Beta anymore after logging in the first time. I had no choice but to uninstall the Beta and revert back to the current WLM.. *sigh*
