U can go to simlim square to get all this done, the price for xp shuold be around the same.At simlim u need to be careful of which shop u chose to visit, recomanded ones will be fuwell, bell. If you are visiting bell systems, u can llook for dave. www.bellsystems.com.sg go to their website and click the pricing on top, u can see the price list that is updated every 1-2 days
For ur rig i will say that u can upgrade to a quadcore, maybe a 9400 or 9550, they are 45nm, if u want, u can get the entry level Q6600, which is 65nm
WHen buying the burner, u need to specify that u need lightscribe, if not they will jsut throw in normal ones
GRaphic card wise u might want to consider something better, like the 9800gtx, the 9800gx2 is still @ 899. if u wan u can get he 4870, but they are quite hot
just another question. i wanna get the HD4870 DDR5 card. wad does the DDR5 means? and is it possible to fit the GA-G31M-S2L motherboard?

GDDR5 means the ram on the graphic card itself
it does not matter wad RAM u ahve on ur mobo. I belive the card is a PCI express 2.0 x16 slot. As long as ur motherboard has a PCI express 2.0 16 slot for u to slot in ur card, it will work.
the card's performance is good, make sure ur CPU doesn't bottle neck it

alright. about the graphic card and the mobo issue again. i am choosing a GA-EP45C-DS3R mobo which does not have a VGA port, which means it is compulsory to have a graphic card in order to have image, right?
it means normal CRT monitor and some LCD cannot plug into the video card.
ur video card should at least have VGA port for backward compatability reason

Yes, if the motherboard doesn't come along with an integrated graphics card, you'll need to get a standalone one for display output.
yes, u need a graphic card
the reason why they exclude onboard graphic is that the board is mainly build for gaming, and gamers buy graphic card, so there is no need to include
Most graphic card comes with DVI or Svideo or hdmi, or combination of any2 of them.
it is alright if ur monitor is running vga, as in the box there should be a dvi to vga dongle, if they raelly did not include, i thnk u can buy 1 for very cheap
the P45 is quite good

Spend a bit more, get a Samsung 22" LCD screen instead. Everything else looks sweet. And your list doesn't contain a power supply unit. Is it included under the casing?
Get a case with a side intake fan, im using the centurion 5, and i overheated my 3870x2
Why dont u go for 4870?
the 4800 series are quite hot
any mobo u guys recommend that can support up to 8gb of ram @ at least 800MHZ?

alright.. couple that with a Gainward HD4850, 4X1GB ATi Crossfire certified RAM, an existing 250GB Western Digital Caviar HDD, Pentium D 930 (cus im unwilling to change my CPU ><), how many watts of power supply would i need, keeping in mind that i might want to add another 250GB HDD and more RAM?
EDIT: my casing only has holes for 1 PCIe and 3 PCI... we're looking at a mATA mobo are we...

with the processor, then it just about adds up.
From HWZ price list (not accurate but a gauge)
Let the motherboard be about $120+ (cannot find price)
Processor about SGD176.00 (hwz checked)
Ram: $24 (hwz checked)
+ service charge: $25 (avg price)
arnd $<400 can get alr.
