What is this(the part I circle)?
could that be the heatsink for one of the major chips?
more heatsink?
It should be the storage controller (Intel ICH9)
i think underneath the heatsink is the southbridge.
it should be the southbridge, which will crash if ur graphic card emits toooooo much heat
what i was guessing...
at first i thot it was northbridge la ><
i tink the northbridge is the one with the bigger heatsink beside the socket, but nto the long one
Yup, shud be the south bridge... if im not wrong... the smaller bit attached to it is the ICH9 controller... the 4 ethernet plug is overkill though, i think...=S

usually i'll just look at what the chip is surrounded by. theres always a north and south bridge chips.
the northbridge controls CPU and RAM, so it'll be placed near it.
the southbridge controls, PCI, PCI-E, USB and other peripherals, so it'll be placed near them too.
