my subscription to Norton 07 expired a few months ago and i was thinking whether 08 upgrade or 360 is better
I have heard of many performance issues but strangely when i installed 360 the computer starts up faster.
but at the start of the boot up the comp suddenly say Floppy Disk Seek error
Press F1 to continue or Press F2 to go to the setup screen
this only happened after i got a virus through Msn, my email was flooded and had more den 24k messages. at that time i was running Mcaffee anti virus that came with the computer disk
my comp is a Dell Diemension 5150 hooked up to a Sony Bravia Tv and is on Pentium 4 and (Previously used MaxtorHD) Seagate 250GB HD (Bought in 2004) with XP
actually, if i were you, i will not use norton
norton dont really catch most or all of the virus
is ur first boot device set as floppy disk?
nope. standard start up, manufacturer setting
i dont thnk your still using floppy these days.. go to bios, disable it.
if you still, you can set in on 2nd or 3rd in ur boot priority
btw, norton sucks. it's good ur account already expired.
try those free ones.
norton is nonsense.

how to do that ah..
idk leh. mcaffee let all the virus in until my comp nearly destinied for scrapyard
Norton ftw
reformat ur comp every 6 months lor.
sure purge everything out of ur system.
Norton is almost like a virus in itself, it takes up a large footprint in your system, has a low rate of virus detection versus other systems, and worse, it cannot be totally removed from your system by an uninstall, you need to download a tool to remove all of their junk from your computer. Frankly I am amazed they are still in the market.
Try something else man.
Norton take up alot of resources and dun do shit most of the shit .. AVG is the way to go dude. If u are still afraid go online to scan.. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ i have been using this method and nothing goes wrong.. And never click msn link and open e-mail attachment unless u r VERY VERY VERY VERY sure its not a virus hoax

comodo firewall...
If XP, use Ghost Firewall from Ghost Security.
Beaten_And_Damned, what happens when you press either buttons? Are you able to boot up properly?
Personally, I feel that AVG is better because its lighter on resources than Norton and causes less problems with slow down and conflicts. I'll recommend AVG to anyone.
Norton has a slight edge in that it picks up "in the wild" virus's better and is better at picking up trojans.
But for the average user, I don't think that gives it enough advantage over AVG.
A lot of people go on the tests done over 12 months ago in which AVG
didn't go so well. Later reports show a vast improvement. I have about
35 + people on AVG, and none of them have had any problems with
un-caught viruses.

boot up properly ya.
but the msg will come every time i press the on button
I doubt if it's caused by Norton or the virus. Sounds like a hardware issue to me. Try resetting everything back to the defaults.

tried that and still nth happens
it was okay before the hardware fix that my uncle did to remove the Maxtor that got fried by the viruses
ok, go to bios to disable it. (floppy disc)
when you switch on that time, before that, there will be a so called screen then it will show lots of things like F11 Bios, F12 Setup ect.
Press pause on your keyboard to stop it.
then press whatever F-key your bios is @.
Look for floppy drive and disable it.
