hi all. i do hope to receive a response fast on this
asking fellow forumnites for help on troubleshooting.
why the computer hor, when on, can see the light on the cpu but nothing shows on the screen. the monitor is working fine but windows doesn't even load.
is it the powersupply issue? or is it the motherboard issue? or what could it possibly be?
please help
How old is your comp? maybe the CMOS battery needs replacing?
Might be good to include your comp's spec & what you've done to it recently too...
erm recently just reformatted the comp.
its a branded acer PC. pretty old liao i think got 3 - 4 years? sorry ah the PC not mine just helping a friend to ask. CMOS battery? whats that?
Ehh.. just reformatted ah... did it boot up again after you first finished reformatting?
Cmos is the component that keeps some of the mobo's function working after turning off the power. (i.e time)
3-4yrs ah, most likely battery flat liao ba~ Take a look at this pic...

Should find out how the cmos batt looks like...
IF i'm not wrong or forgetten anything, the battery "size" code is CR3202 or something close, FYI. Commonly availdable in supermarket...
