Do MAC hang as often as PC

got my iMac in Sept 2006 and to date has never hung...
there was once i left it on without switching off for about 2 weeks... no slowdown either...

it would just die..
as in..... die. -
mine often did .... they say it's a HARDWARE issue .....
that's why I got rid of it and went the linux route ....

Mac doesn't hang, but when it dies..... it just dies. That's my experience with it.

it just freezes there ..... with that color wheel thingy spinning round and round .....

that's a hang .... nothing could be done .... I brought it to the service center, they told me it's a hardware problem .... weird fellows ...

I run windows on one lappy, linux on the other ....
frankly, why pay more just for the logo ? ...

LOL... if Linux doesn't hang, but Mac does, then there's something that's wrong with Mac.
It couldn't be hardware issues, because if the hardware is failing, you will notice all kinds of weird problems, of which Linux is not immuned to.

linux doesn't hang ..... I've used assorted flavours for 5 years now ...
thing is, when you buy a mac, you're paying for the whole package, the hardware AND the software, people often forget that ... personally, I think they are over-rated .... and they don't lie about marking up their products at a premium just for the branding, so why pay more ...
if it's really about the "cool" UI, then there are mac skins to download for linux and windows ...
