what is the correct location/command to use for scanning incoming files for virus in avg 8?

for some ppl it might be

"<root drive>\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG8\avgscanx.exe"

open ur msn options > file transfer > scan file for viruses using: > den browse for the above

Thanks.. but I tried then only got command prompt come out. There's no message like scan file successful like avg 7.5 last time. nor did he show any scan history. am i doing the wrong thing or something? :(

It's normal for AVG 8 not to prompt.
