You can't, since it's a CD-R (write-once only). Get a CD-RW the next time if you know you will be re-using (deleting and putting in new files) it in the future.

it states there is no disk despite the DVD+RW already in there
the drive is DVD supported
Writing data into DVDs is not natively supported by Windows XP. You'll need a disc authoring software such as Nero to do that. A free, open-source alternative would be CDBurnerXP.
