I wonder if anyone is having same issues that I am having with my FF3.
I use about 15 to 20 tabs at a time but after I close all except for one and I check the Task Manager, the memory usage is about 150MB and over. When all the tabs were open, the memory usage was about 275MB. Seems like the memory usage reduced a bit after closing all tabs except for one but still seems like there are memory leaks going on.
I also noticed that when I close the FF3 window, seems like my disk drive is thrashing a lot and for quite some time.
Anyone else having these issues? Or is it just me?
i find tt ff3 less laggy and uses less ram than ff2
ceteris paribus
good for you....mine always hang......maybe due to not enough ram....btw, any difference with ff2?..looks like theres no diff...
6 tabs at 98MB of ram .... seems to be just abit less than FF2
ff3 is a lot faster than ff2.......
.... ff3 is very good except that it is not 100% compatible with sgforums...
...some minor irritations....but works just fine with other forums...
why yours so much ram? i open 50 tabs only 300mb, big improvement over ff2

Probably caused by your add-ons. Try backing up, delete the folder where your profiles and add-ons are stored and perform a re-installation of Firefox.
After I removed the DownThemAll addon, the memory usage reduced a bit. I also read somewhere that if I increase the cache, it will lower memory usage too so I have done that as well. The memory usage is more manageable now.
As for the disk thrashing, seems to be caused by the option that auto clear private data when closing FF. Turned that off and now OK.
