hmm the sound only comes up once in a while.. but it is a mild screeching sound more like the 2nd sound in the video. not so loud though. maybe they amplify for the video.
thanks for the advice, din't know that can exchange for new one.. isit must before it spoil then valid.. but if i use those disk scambler to like reformat the hdd before exchanging it, it is still not safe ah? cos if can exchange of cos gd, save some $$..
A piece of advise: If you buy a OEM computer, throw away the HDD that came with it and buy a good one. HDDs that come with the OEM last at most 3 years (the OEM will choose the budget brand) . HDDs that are bought seperately can sometimes last up to 10 years. My dad still has a HDD that is more than 10 years old but still usable.

im sorry to be harsh, but the truth hurts and this is it.
this isnt advice, its crap. i dont see my previous hp pavilion desktop's western digital hdd failing after using it for 5 years before replacing it with another hp pc in 2006.
an oem pc has a warranty attached.
by doing that, the warranty is void. in case of system faulty, the pc can no longer be sent for free repairs and replacement by the store.
also, the hdd is no different from a seperately bought hdd.
if say, your oem pc came with a 250gb wd caviar hdd, i think you can buy the same thing outside, and it isnt gonna be any different. maybe the numbers and such are, because these are specifically supplied for the pc maker, but 7200rpm disk speed is still going to be 7200rpm on the same models. that isnt going to change. budget model, yes, might be true for lower end pc's.
furthermore, do not think that everyone is so rich as to get a new pc and trash the hdd, and at the same time, lose free support due to voiding the warranty.
dont forget that nowadays, pc's dont come with OS installation cd's.
its all inside the hard drive. you trash that, you gonna have to fork out few hundred for what they commonly sell now: vista.
i see.. think i will stick to using what comes with the packaged pc still.. after all isn't cheap to replace the hdd and the os.. after afew yrs maybe the same money can buy a much bigger size hdd alrdy..
thanks for the advice ppl
