topic as above. discuss anything on altec lansing audio..
***why do i have a feeling that this thread is gonna sink to the depths of this forum***
too specific.. what are the chances you're gonna find a lot of altec lansing fans here?
where's the guy with the CS21 altec >.<
seems like m'sia has a loyal altec following.
lowyat forum has a thread for altec lovers
singapore i think not much ba.. the only place that sells altec in MASS amounts is challenger.. at best denki trying to find a mid-range or high end altec is fat hope...
I appreciate the clear sound quality and the bass of my altec lansing in my laptop..
The ATP3 is a good speaker for the budget range. But as usual considering the <100 price tag the quality is not top-notch and the usual wear and tear will set in after some time.
Well, that's my first altec speaker.. BUT i have been using that like for 4-5 years and it's still in good condition ..
i used the atp3 for about 7 years i think.
it was in the storeroom for about a year, then i ttok it out when i was p3 to replace the stock pc speakers... huge difference. im still using it till this day, except that its pc spot has now been replaced by a larger, better MX5021 =)
the atp3 shifted to my listening corner =)
anyway, got my new altec mx5020 yesterday, tested it out.. it was gooooooooood.
it didnt have a sub, but i didnt miss it either =)
that brings the total to 5 altec systems for me, deoesent it? =)

i have a companion 3 and a FX 6021. I prefer my FX 6021.
but if given the choice, i would prefer this.

actually those Altec Lansing speakers not good for listening to music,
most of them have THD of 10%, the frequency response range also not good.
if you go over to Adelphi and try out some of the mini compo,
you will hear the difference.
i love my MX 5021..
my notebook comes with the speaker ... cool
creative inspire T7900 7.1 speaker
it takes a very very loud volume to distort the bass. i think the 24W bass power beat my panasonic home theatre's 55W bass.

lol adelphi is the elite rich ppl area.. me no intention of getting any thing there.
but seriously, since its from a shop in adelphi, its already gotta be some kind of super ex, super class stereo and of course, its gotta be good. i aint saying altec's e best, but it pretty much beats most other brands in the pc speaker market.
then agian, the 10%thd is measured at max.. hehe, i bet most of us dont listen at that kind of volume!
still i do agree that the mini compos are of course better, they are specially dedicated for music, while the altecs are meant to be all purpose.
cheers =)

the T7900's have good midrange in their satellites.
but the woofer~ it is strong,
but it shouts rather than sings, and it hums rather loudly in the 100hz region.
