does anyone know if the motherbroad GA-965P-DQ6 can support Geforce 8800GTS? the manual does not write which graphic card it can support. what is the difference between DDR2 and DGGR3?
sry for this qn i am noob in IT.
Yes. 8800gts is able to support your motherboard. The mobo has a PCI Express x16 slots, which the 8800Gts requires.
Mod Edit: More info.

GDDR3, Graphics Double Data Rate 3, is a graphics card-specific memory technology
In layman terms, it's just a technology used in graphics cards. futhermore, GDDR3 is sorta better than DDR2 in writing and reading of data in games ect.
It would support if it has a PCI-express 2.0 x16 slot, newer boards like urs should have.
One other thing is you must have a pci express 6pin or 8pin(or both)connector that can be readily connect the power supply to ur graphics card, if you do not have it, make sure that the graphics card comes with a 6pin or 8pin(or both) to molex connector.
Some graphic card use two 6pin or one 6pin and one 8pin connector, im nt sure whether ur 8800gts uses which, you also need to make sure that ur power supply can draw enough power( not peak power) to supply the graphics card
My 1st 3870x2 uses 1 6pin and 1 8pin pci express power connecter, and my 2nd 3870x2 grahpics card uses two 6pin connecter
oh the graphic card need to supply by another power supply. i thought i only need to put it.
the graphic card box does not provide me with any wires to connect power supply to my graphic card.
i think the 8800gts need power, you must ask the person selling it to you, and i think minimum is 550 watts, im not veri sure

go there and calculate, i dunno how accurate it is, but is aprrox gauge
im using thermaltake toughpower 750w
