Hello folks,
I am planning to upgrade my graphics card and power supply. I have zeroed down to the ones listed below:
Graphics Card: LEADTEK WinFast PX8800 GT Extreme (GeForce 8800GT) 512MB GDDR3
Power supply: CORSAIR HX620W Modular 620W ATX Power
Does anybody have any information/experiance to share on these? Btw, if you are recommending a different card, please stick to nvidia 8800GT cards. I am not keen on ATI and have no money to go for more powerful cards.
Thanks
i think it is enough, if you are only going for one card.
since the graphic card is using pci express x16, u need to make sure ur mobo have this slot, and i tink it is powered by a 8pin or 6pin, so ur power supply must have that connection
if u do not have, must make sure that ur card comes with a 6pin or 8pin to molex connection.
if you intend to get a 9800gx2 card, x2 means another processor, need more power, so must check out with the person selling
@MyPillowTalks: Thanks for the input. Actually it's due to the power consumption requirments that i am upgrading my PSU. The one that i have choosen is more than enough to power a 9800GX2 or two cards in SLI mode.
i actually dont prefer to ask the sales person cos there only objective is to make more money and i find thier technical knowledge not up to the mark. I do my research on the internet and forums.
one very important thing----- Does your pillow realy talk??

orh.....so if it really can supply you with enough power then okay
cos i just got a new rig last month, and im on thermaltake toughpower 750watts
i wanna get ready to crssfire the 4870x2 when it comes out, now im on 3870x2, they say it is backward compatible
my pillow can talk
I saw the specs on your thermalrake, very nice indeed. You definitely don't have to upgrade your powersupply for the 4870X2. Heck, if i am not wrong, your powersupply can take on 3 way crossfire!!!
dunno lea
one shop say not enough if i wanna get another 3870x2
then the shop i bought frmo say enough
hope is enough
