How to solve this problem? MIne is windows xp. its an irritating problem. what virus did i have?
Sometimes might be your ram overload...
got enough power supply ? got over heat ? or maybe mobo got problem
hmm... repeated problem?
did u get blue screen? i get it when i play games occasionally..if im lucky sometimes once, if not alot.
everyday also got one recently.
Nope. no blue screen. Just everything goes off and restarts.
mine happens also. actually i forgot what was my computer problem
let me boot and see
oh.. my computer monitor will just flicker out, then no matter what i do, shake the mouse or type on the keyboard, won't bring the monitor back on.
Most likely it's power supply. Have experienced it twice with two computers, bought new power supplies in both cases.
Best is to let some shop or somebody who does computers for a living to check it out for you.

solution to TS's or my problem?
1. When does it occur? After you use it for a few hours, or it happens immediately?
2. Please post your system specs.
a. Amount of RAM
b. Processor
c. Power Supply wattage rating
d. Hard disk specs - XXXX RPM (where X are numbers)
e. Type and size of monitor (LCD, flat screen, CRT, XX inch)
f. Graphics card (if any)
h. Sound card
Could be connections issue.
Now i am using a different profile, and its seems ok so far....
the old window profile like corrupted like that.
Monitor for a few more days. If profile is corrupted, copy over your files and delete away that account.

TS's problem, but seems he solved it already for now.
Hi, i am back. Now the restart problem is worst, with several variations in seems. One is that during start up, there will be blue screen doing some disk check. There is also mentioning of corrupted files.
i pretty clueless. I just restart everytime got what corrupted file problem becos it does not restarts all the time. Perhaps its just one cause, or maybe few causes.
What should i do?
It occurs randomly.... sometimes it will restart during starting of computer, sometimes it restarts when i am using a computer..
I am not sure of my computer specs... i guess its 1.8ghz.. 80GB disk, RAM dunno..
Corrupted system files? Bad sector?

better go full backup ur files and try reformat... if still occurs ur disk gng up lorry...
I am now using a different profile as i am typing this and have not encountered any restart for about 1hr... i dunno whether is it coincidence or whether it means that my other profile .. which has more programs running.. is corrupted...
How much power ur power supply have?
do u have any hardware that eats a lot of power? eg 2 grahpics card
or there is overheating problems?
The disc check occurs due to improper shutting down of your computer.
There should be an option to fix bad sectors .
If you are using NTFS and there's disk check and mention of corrupted files, chances are, your hard disk will go heaven.
Backup everything.
If you are using FAT32, then make sure you shut down the PC properly. 10 or more times you need disk check, Windows will corrupt beyond repair.
actually got once i lazy i just switch off power to close the computer immediately... i thought its ok to do this.. i still dunno if this move was fatal...
now i am using another profile with less program... still got shut down by itself to go into a blue screen.. which i react by restarting.
Its less problematic down here it seems...
anyway.. i try to read and answer some of your questions.. thanks for help. I am saving some files onto CDs...
What operating system are you using?
I have the same problem, one fan broke down, when i started running the system with side panels removed from the tower it seemed better, although dust will be an issue.
