if reinstalling the windows xp disc thn the whole comp will be lyk new rite ?
will there still be internet ???

If you connect your modem by lan wire, there should be internet
If you conenct through USB, u need to install the modem driver

If you computer is using a lan cable
Look at your modem.
You should see a cable connecting to your pc. Take it out. It looks like a bigger sized version of the telephone cable right?
That's a lan cable. You will have no problem connecting to the net.
If there is no cable connecting to your Pc, but it is connecting to a router.
then there should be an adaptor connected via usb to your computer.
For that you must reinstall drivers.
Use the CDs provided with the routers.

For both, after you reformat, you will lose all your favourites, links, cookies will be gone. So i suggest you back them up first.

If you reformat without unplugging the wires, just re-configure the router/modem as per usual. If you have lost your manuals, call up XXX ISP and ask them for help. Also pay half a century price ($50++).
If you don't fancy paying, kindly provide the details (router/modem model number).

Xxx ISP will not charge, unless u call them down to help.
