Is there any error message how/ what made your internet go down?
Try flusing and renewing your ip.
1.Clear your browser cookies.
2. Open the command prompt (Start - Run - cmd.exe)
3. Run the following simple commands:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

you are using vista?
ok, you go All Programs, Accessories, right click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator. then follow the flush ip steps.
Have you tried the diagnose and repair option?
