acer fujitsu

hi i'm getting a laptop and seeking some advices.
i'm considering 3 acer ones and a fujitsu one. i've heard that acer isn't very good and fujitsu is better, is it true?
the models im considering are acer extensa 4620, aspire 4920g, travelmate 6292 and fujitsu lifebook s7211tp.
advices very much appreciated. thanks!

Well, Acers are fine with me. I have no problems with them, however, when you get an acer, it is bang for buck. However, it is also based on luck.
I would not recc the extensa 4620. A search on google showed [discontinued] at one of the sites. Acer laptops generally churn out new models pretty quick, thus, as such, certain models get discontinued quick.If you are somehow budget constrained, the 6292 will do fine. The 6292 does have web cam and a finger print sensor.
If money is not an issue, go for the fuji. You should be assured of quality.
Note: I would not say that Acer's quality is that bad. Recently, i came across a few in Harvey Norman. I was quite impressed by it's built quality and specs, but i was turned down by the pricings. -- $1600++ -- $1800++.Thus i would not comment as of yet.

I think I'll be getting a fujitsu one instead. many people urged me to get fujitsu because it's made in japan and the quality is very good. my budget is less than $1800 so i think it's okay.

Being a Fuji doesnt mean that it is made in Japan. What purpose are you getting it for? studies?
Anyways, are you restricted to only this 2 brands?

yeah it's for studies. there are other brands such as macbook and lenovo but im only considering acer or fujitsu.

Do you live near your school? or do you have to take around 30min or even longer bus/mrt trip to school?
If you live far and take a long time to travel to your school, I recommend you to get the lightest latop. It is really heavy to carry 2.4kg laptop everyday. Trust me ^^
Please check your notebook after you purchase it. Use a black/white color wallpaper to check for dead/stuck pixel. I didn't check mine and now theres a stuck pixel at the middle of the screen.

i ordered the fujitsu lifebook s7211tp alr. it's 2.2kg and i live very near my school. less than 10 mins of bus ride.

Ohh ok...less than 10mins should be no problem for you to get a heavier model though.
I carry 2.4kg...walking around 500m everydayy =( and taking a 20min bus ride. and it suck.
