  Most likely a hardware problem since the error message would appear before loading the OS. Check the mainboard and the hardware connected to it if there is anything wrong with them.

  vista, it's a dell dimension e520. fren mentioned that she called dell, they told her it was a software problem. so dell can't help. but i won't rule out a hardware problem.

  1. Motherboard brand + model number

  2. Processor

  3. HDD - total amount + space left
