i think Gill Bates has thrown in the towel for Vista...
=> Next Windows "sometime" in next year
but then, he's said that the new windows will revolutionise mobile phones and allow a touchscreen or calling up stuff with your hands... so watch out for it

LOL... I just wish they spend more testing. Vista is released in a hurry with a thousand and one problems.
They do the same thing for the next OS will only make people boycott MS. Can't they just use their brains a little more.

Those who paid extra for Vista... you have just became a carrot head. You should be paying extra for XP, not Vista. Microsoft is only extending support for low-cost PCs (like Asus EEE).
Unless you are one of those who want an Ultimate Vista... which by the way cost more.

Hopefully it is not another rushed out product that microsoft is famous for...
anyways, windows 7 is only in it's starting stages of development ( as shown in a youtube video last year). There is still no news of any alpha nor beta testing.
Thus iam quite confident to say that it would not come up next year, maybe next next year

I am already having the images of Windows ME in my mind.
IE8 quite problematic for now...it should have still been in alpha testing...but they released it for beta testing to get ppl to do the dirty work for them...

Well.... it wouldn't be too surprising if he does so.
Anyway, this is dumb.... people are still changing over from XP to Vista, and he wants to introduce yet another OS? And with the main Vista issues still mainly unresolved?
With the way Microsucks works, they'll release an SP1 for the new OS within a couple of weeks of its release.

Some says MS is releasing it in 2010. It's still a rushed project. Vista took so long to do and received bad feedback, I don't see how Windows 7 could be better.
