"Faster DDR2 DIMMs are compatible with slower DDR2 DIMMs; however, the faster module runs at the slower module's speed. Using slower DDR2 memory in a system capable of higher speeds results in the bus running at the speed of the slowest memory in use."
Read this on wikipedia. So, if i were to have 2 rows of 256mb DDR2 3200 and buy another 2x DDR2 4200 512mb, all these will run at the speed of 3200Mb/s right?
Can like that mix mix hor?
can.
can
why wld u want to do dat when u can hoot 2X2GB now @ less than 70
Add on:
If your computer supports up to eg: DDR2 3200
and you Have a DDR2 6000, it would be converted to running at a speed of 3200.
like wise, DDR2 3200 , but u have a DDR2 1600, it would run too. But at 1600.
But do note of the word behind the DDR. dont go buy ddr2 if you can only use ddr
