2x 512mb dual channel
or
3 x 512mb single channel?
I happen to have 3 rams lol... so which one should i use?

From this article, it seems dual channel is overrated somehow? Improvement in performance doesn't seem to differ alot from one another.
Of course thats from my shallow point of view. Hope the experts here can give me some comments.
edit2: after doing more research, I saw some saying speed > memory ... haha totally confused. experts here help!
I would go with 3x and turn off virtual memory.

I think Brutus's "x2" meant ditto actually.
To turn off VM, right-click My Computer > Properties > Advanced tab > Performance - Settings > Advanced tab > Virtual memory - Change
Then select No paging file and click on Set for all the drives, then OK your way out. They will prompt you to do a system reboot thereafter.
And I don't think your system needs to use a swap file (which is basically using your hard disk as RAM) if you have 1.5 GB of RAM, unless you're involved with memory-intensive applications, typically associated with video-editing and 3D modeling. If you indeed are, then I would suggest using 2 sticks and leave VM on instead.

Wow. thanks for your suggestion. Will do as you say. I mostly use MS words, powerpoint, internet, MSN and maybe WMP... so i guess pagefile is not needed.
