I'm a bit surprised at the IP address. Anyway, I have no idea how Starhub works so I can't tell if the configuration is correct.
Can you try pinging all of these 3 DNS servers:
202.156.1.58
218.186.1.38
202.156.1.38
Ping can be done through Command Prompt.
Go to Start > Run, type in cmd and press Enter.
Type in ping 202.156.1.58 and press Enter.
Repeat for the next 2 sets of IP addresses.
Just my 2 cents but what is your IE proxy setting? If only IE itself cannot connect to the internet, that could be the IE proxy setting has been configured to use a proxy server.
Ok the results for the 1st ping 202.156.1.58 .... is
Packets:Sent=4,received=0,lost=4(100% Loss)
2nd Ping 218.186.1.38 is..
Packets:Sent=4,Received=0,lost=4(100% Loss)
3rd Ping 202.156.1.38 is...
Packets:Sent=4,Received=0,lost=4(100% Loss)
err i oso suspect is my IE proxy settings tats creating the problem.. but i juz dunno how to solve it lehh or configure the correct IE proxy settings.. my IE proxy settings now is being set to my school's setting.. which is something like ''sp.edu.sg'' with 8888 ports.. how ?? help pls... arghhh im so pissed
Let's try changing your proxy settings first. Restart your computer after that to see if SP has locked down certain changes to Internet Explorer.
1. Open Internet Explorer. Click on Tools > Internet Options.
2. Select the Connections tab.
3. Click on LAN settings button.
4. Untick the Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections) box.
5. Click OK to apply the settings.
6. Restart the computer. See if you can access the Internet now.
If it doesn't work, try this:
1. Open Control Panel, double click on Network Connections.
2. Right click on your connection and select Properties.
3. Double click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
4. Select Use the following DNS server addresses radio button.
Add in these 2 IP addresses:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click OK to apply the settings.

THANKS ALL
Don't be so happy yet. As you are in a domain, SP could have certain policies to lock down the changes to IE. Now you could change it, but on the next restart of computer, everything could be reverted.
Then you start everything all over again.
hmm.. everything seems fine now.. even i restart or shut down my computer.. then internet connection is still there and i can surf internet now.. im now using my laptop to surf this website eh. haha so i dun think SP have lock down any changes to this laptop.. anyway thanks.. if i have anymore help ill approach this forum.. it really is good.. haha thanks!!
