as above, windows vista home, acer. thanks
Do me a favour by doing the following. If it BSOD again, note down all details.
To note down the errors, you need to prevent Windows from automatically restarting your PC.
1. Click on Start > Control Panel and double click on System. Can't find System, please switch to the Classic view.
2. Click on the Advanced system settings link on the left. If UAC prompts, allow it.
3. Under Startup and Recovery, click on the Settings button.
4. Under System Failure, untick Automatically Restart box. Click OK all the way to apply the changes.
When noting down the errors, I need these details:
a. STOP 0 x 8 alphanumeric (e.g 0 x 000000D1)
b. Error type (e.g DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)
c. File name (e.g kbd.sys)
Picture for you to refer. Those boxed up in red are the details that we need.
I hv this on my screen....pls help!
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: OxOOOOOOOA (OxC1O4O27E, OxOOOOOOO2, OXOOOOOOOO, Ox8O580A44)
Kindly read the Posting Guidelines.
Post the details required.

According to MS, that's a kernel mode trap error. Since you are having this error... you will need to check your hardware.
1. Shut down your computer. Wait for at least 1 minute.
2. Remove the CPU casing. Take out all sticks of RAM, leaving one stick. Wait for at least 1 minute again and start up the computer.
If nothing happens... try with another stick.
Then try both sticks of RAM together. Swap the RAM sticks around to see if there are problems. Do this until you get hit with the same error.
