hmm not tt many...its the normal like ieexplorer, svchost blah blah. dont see any weird weird ones...
With Vista highly tweaked, the most I've got it down is to around to 43, from 50 odd processes. That's excluding all 3rd programs (all those crap that laptop manufacturers bundle, it can hit 70++ processes without removing any of the crap). That's how much resources Vista is using + it shows how much brain cells manufacturers have.
I will suggest you add more RAM and defrag your hard disk... and enable UAC. Irritating as it is, it does help protect Vista to a great extent. That's for now. Future only god knows.
hmm not sure how many process, but i think tis arnd 60. i have the check my laptop later.
hmm ok i'll prob try defragmenting my hardisk soon:)
OK, common enough for a Toshiba laptop.
You should see a HP machine. I guarantee you that the first thing you do is to reformat.

how much RAM is enough

1GB is just nice to run Vista without all the crap that manufacturers bundle. 2GB is the minimum for all the crap that manufacturers bundle.

depends on the no. of things u running... 2gb still oook for minimum stuffs...
Heng ah!
My 1.8mhz with a gb ram takes less than a minute!! =x

Erm, a sure effective way is to change your windows appearance to "classic mode". (windows 98 style)
Using this setting, windows runs like an angel with no problems whatever so, but it's ugly.
To change it:
right click -- personalization -- theme settings -- windows classic.
Ugly?
Practical uses. You get something that you are used to, not something that you aren't.
Great for stubborn users.

go to start->run type in msconfig and in startup disable everything and reboot when prompted.
See if tht helps.

This is not highly recommended for PCs and laptops which are not DIY. OEM installs often have so many hidden things that are unknown to us. Disabling everything will only serve to cause more problems.
HP is one example. One of the programs need to load at startup for it work properly. Do that and you go and reformat your laptop.
Moreover, you didn't state if you own a Toshiba to do such a risky thing. If it works, good. If it doesn't, good luck to you.
