As above, thinking of signing on for the 10 mbps singtel plan, comes with this machine. think tt it would be worth it? or would i be better off getting a new one and upgrading it?
p.s. im using it for gaming...flight simulators and stuff....
I'm wary of any that integrates a modem on a mobo. Unlike laptops, modems integrated on mobos give more problems than a 3rd party device.
Otherwise, everything else is fine. You might want to wipe Vista and load XP. I've got no patience for drivers issues in Vista.
Do note, The price of this machine is included in your subscription.
For eg: without this machine $6x, with it $7x.
you are indirectly paying for it.
This PC sucks. You can get better specs if u DIY with that amount.
If the following criteria is there, then might be worth it

Vista only have driver issues right? Does the 64-bit part more than compensate for it?

There is only an upgrade to Q6600 Quad Core processor, and its aging anyway

it's worse with 64bit.
You mean its even slower? The only advantage I can think of for vista is directx 10... unless someone had come up with a patch for xp too already
so ugly...

I wont say it's slower, quicker. however, even more programmes are not compatible with 64bit

If there's anything good for 64-bit stuffs, it will be the ability to add more RAM. Due to limitations of 32-bit systems, the max amount of RAM you can add is only 3 to 3.5GB.
