512MB is not a lot considering U are running XP.
What about before last week?

512mb would be quite sufficient for xp to run pretty quickly.
How long have you not defrag?
There's a few reasons why XP could load so slow.
1. Files are too fragmented.
2. Lack of HDD space.
3. Spyware, viruses, etc.
4. Too many programs and services running on startup.
Kindly provide all details. The following are required:
a. Total amount of HDD space and amount of HDD space left. For all partitions that you have.
b. Download and run this file for me. It produces a list of programs that are running on startup.
c. When was the last time you defragmented your hard disk?
Hi Mr Goh, did you surf porn recently ?
It cud be start up files
Go to start->run type msconfig and in start up disable everything.See if tht helps.
The slowness of a computer doesn't solely depend on one factor. And doing this can be disastrous for computer health.
It won't do anythng bad and if it does makes it faster u have the answer.Disable ones u dnt use.
i go msconfig there untick and tick some until its faster....~
ai ya.. the 5 mins ting is simple... u have too many files on your desktop.. will cfm slow dwn booting up de.. CLEAR THE FILES!! den can liao.. trust me
