My Bitdefender virus protection just expired... then my computer clock keep screwing up , it will jump to 2068 automatically. Any idea what's happening?
Hmm, this is the first time i have heard about it.
I shall try to help.
Have you tried updating ur time settings?
For vista/xp
Does the time still go back to 2068?
If it's because of Bitdefender virus protection , try to uninstall it.
and update ur time.
Must be those idiotic anti-piracy programs at work.
Some developers think they are smart by manipulating us.
Bitdefender uninstalled liao ... still the same.
For the "Internet Time" tab, there is only one option, asking me if i wana automatically syncronise my time ... should i disable or enable the funtion? (The function is now currently enabled)

by right, should be enabled.
try disabling it and setting the time
Disabled... still screwed up ..
Wow..time travel literally
Say, if i was really time travel, by 2068 ... i think (if i am still alive) i am probably too feeble to type anything here ...
Another reason would be if the RTOS battery on the Motherboard (a coin shaped battery) is dead. This battery maintains the system clock even when the System is powered off. If this battery is dead, the system clock keeps changing. You need to have the battery replaced in that case.
ZZ, hareware again... The battery cheap? Or i need to change to whole motherboard???
I cannot rule out the possibility of the dead battery, but it's around $2++
No need to change the whole mother board.
you can also try this software first to see if it's a software or a hardware issue.

I just realise the clock will screw (so far) when IE is open (IE version 6)
And when the clock now jumps back to yr 2000 ... the clock expires immediately ... lol
There's no need for Singapore to synchronize with time servers. Our time is standard. GMT + 8, with no daylight savings or whatever crap.
I turn that off for all PCs.
Probably you just need a change of battery.
