If you have a budget of 2.1k-2.7k which notebook will you buy ..
With the following "wants"
- Longlife Battery
- 1 2.1 -13.1 inch
- Good specs with min: 2.1 GHz
RAM to be at least 2GB and hopefully a max of 4GB
--GOOD DESIGN
-Must have webcam , TPM-Chip and also new realise...
Is this good ? It was a new arrival , since last wk , friday..
The salesman said that he could add up to 4GB RAM or get an extended 3 years local warrenty ..
What do you think and do you recommend this model ? Based on opinion , specs and brand ...
The specs is quite acceptable, however with a hefty price tag of 2.6k, you could get much more. I would suggest you to think twice before getting it.
Turion 64x2 is only known to be able to compare with core duo laptops. So if i had a 2.6k budget, i would go for a core 2 duo instead.
A 2gb ram is quite the norm in laptops nowadays, so i wouldnt be that surprised if this laptop has it. ( i would be surprised on the other hand if it doesnt)
802.11 n -- a nice addition, but you must have a wireless N router inorder to surf at n speeds. (means more $) most places nowadays are using 802.11G standards, and 802.11n devices are known to drown out G signals.
Since there is a pc show now going on, i would recc you to head down to check it out, rather than limiting yourself to one choice
mobile geforce not too good hor..
Could you recommend some other models for me ?
But I still sort of rather prefer tablet .. (:
Can you also give a rough estimation of specs with a budget of 2.6k
BTW , do you recommend tablet ? Seems cool ..
To add on:
The tpm chip, is quite a norm in HP laptops, most compaq and hp laptops have these chips. (nt really a big deal)
Since it is a new launch, the price will surely be on a high side for maybe 1 month, then it will gradually drop or maybe they might throw in free upgrades or some software.

Tablet Pc with about the same specs but it is $1000 cheaper. ( you have to be a student though)
now, do u wish to buy at challenger?
Yar , it's for SP student if I am not wrong ..
Specs is about the same but other forumers said that Turion = Power Hungry and hot + lose to Core 2 Duo
and "omemore with a GeForce 6150 nia, even if got HyperMemory the gaming performance is also absymal."
how ??
If I am not wrong , only HP and fujitsu have tablet pc .. and Fujitsu is dame exp ..
Think HP is offering tablet PC discounts... for students only. See quite a few tablet PC around the show, but never pay attention. LOL
I am not really against tablet pcs, but i have heard bad reviews from people using my school's tablet.
The tablet pc is an acer.
It is those kinds of tablets which cannot be rotated - unlike the newer models and it only has a hard canvas cover to protect it's screen.
Result: cracked screens.
Some brands of tablets are also not really responsive. (as in pen to screen response time). Acer is one of them, Fuji is one of them.
I m not too sure about Hp though.
HP tablet PC damn heavy... despite the small screen.
The one RP has, the pen response time is OK. Quite responsive leh.

Power hungry, Yes, more power hungry than core duo models. Hot, i m not too sure, i m always blowing a fan it it.
Let me tell u a story.
One day, Intel launched it's core duo range. it offers 2 cores threads which means faster processing time compared to those running at the same clock speed. It later improved and upgraded it to core 2 duo. 4 threads!
Then AMD became unhappy, and launched Turion 64 x2 to counter it.However, Turion, at it's best is only able to match the clock speed of Core duo.
Hyper memory means having a proportion of your ram channeled into graphics. Worth it? no. let's say u have 2gb ram, then maybe 128mb of your ram give to graphis, means u only have 1872mb of ram.
Not only Hp and fuji offers tablets.
Acer, toshiba and a jap brand startin with Mist_____ offers them too.
The Mist whatever crap company, is the air con company on TV ads?
Hmm ..
Mayi and kenneth , recommend me to take the $1699 for student's ? Since specs is about the same , but it's quite responsive according to the salesman. It uses magnet and don't really have to touch the screen , and it can detect the wordings and so on ...
If I don't want a tablet , do recommend me other models ...
Thanks !

Frankly, the Asus, has all these. Except for a 14.1 inch screen. Good graphics, A good Zhng-in bios. Good performance overall. A Seriously long battery life. My friend's Asus is able to loop vidoes for 3.5hrs with vista running. Lol, If i tried that on my Hp, about 1 1/2 hr.

What I dislike most is the : Thickness of frame (wide and height of LCD screen , beside it)
(About Asus)
Actually I have chose F9Sg...
Errr this person from South Asia (Funan) recommended me : Lifebook S6410EVB @ $2799
Specs : Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 (2.2Ghz , 4MB L2 Cache , 800MHz FSB)
he rest are just crapz ..
But she said got free upgrade to 4GB RAM ..
And it's their store-in-house promotion ..
