My friend used my com 3 days ago and i got tons of spywares from it. Will system recovery back to 3 days ago help me get those spywares away too?
if 3 days ago no spyware, then should be able to get them away.
system RESTORE or system RECOVERY?
If you do a system recovery, everything will be gone. Because this is the same as reformatting and reinstalling Windows.
Unfortunately, doing a system restore doesn't cure the problem. Symptoms may disappear, but so long as the computer is infected, it is infected.

System restore only do what it's supposed to do... recover a system from disaster, especially after a disastrous update... it doesn't help if your system is infected.
Because... the files are on your PC.
But the core of Windows is the registry. Doing system restore may restore the clean registry back... but whether it removes the files... I'm not so sure. By the way, I'm not a fan of system restore, although it is useful when it comes to forensics investigation.
system restore only restore back settings.
doesn't delete away files or whatsoever.
it'll help perhaps system restore resets the setting. but once the spyware tamper the settings, you are back to square one.

I'm not a fan too... But the last time I tried for fun on my comp, files that are created after restore point date actually disappeared. But for my friend, her files didn't disappear. Till now I've no idea why.
But in my friend's case, the spyware was gone.

the best solution is still to do a spyware scan or a hijackthis log, then post here and ask mayi.
Solved.

This is what System Restore does and what it does not do. Obviously, yours fall under what it doesn't do. So yeah, your files are gone.

I think I remember wrongly... Is newly installed software got "uninstalled"... not files gone... oops...
Because before system restore, the program wasn't there. What you restored is a good old copy of the registry, thus the program disappears. In actual fact, it's there. Search where you installed it. By default, it's C:\Program Files
it was near one year ago liao...
