To this day,it still runs fine save for the dead battery and the trackball

Asus is a reputable brand, and it is quite well known in the gaming industry, from it's performance and over clocking capabilities.

Yup... no Mac. And no Fujitsu either.
Most should be within reach of your budget. Asus is a Taiwan brand.

And thats if your eyes can tolerate the small lcd size.
if asus meets wif any problems, means i nid to fly to taiwan to hav it repaired? or is dere a service centre for asus in Singapore?

and if you dont mind the slow clock speed
note: it is in mhz, not ghz. 1000 mhz = 1 ghz
on a serious note, not all fujis are >2k. there are certain lower end models/ older ranges that are around that price.

There is a service centre in singapore.
It's a reputable brand, certainly better than acer, comparable to standards of Fuji.
kk these brands are out:
COST: fujitsu, lenovo, mac
BATTERY LIFE: acer
HEAT UP EASILY: toshiba
final brands to consider: compaq, hp, asus.
haha.. will probably have a hard time choosing at the IT show tis sun. u guys heading down too?

Oh dear, its not as bad as u think. If there's no service centre, the distributer will do it for you.
If you have the money,go for HP - since HP owns Compaq, the latter is now the budget end of the company.
However,a good thing is that some of HP functions(albiet stripped down or unimportant ones) are brought forward to Compaq(i.e HP Quickplay on Compaq)

Yep, sunday (last day steals)
Compaq and Hp are from the same company. If you would wish to get a HP but you just cant afford >$2.0k
There would normally be a similar spec one, branded under the name of Compaq - about 1.8k.
That's the price to pay for a brand name.
anyone that has a fast internet is good.
What fast internet?
Hi all,i'm going to poly this coming april
As require from the poly,i need a latop,However, they only gave me 2 choices of brand which is Acer and Hp
If i buy other brand of latop,i need to spend hours installing the software that is require from my poly
So,my question is,which latop brand should i chose?
Your help is greatly appreciated ^^
wah i wanted to get the Acer Aspire 4920G with extended warranty for about 1.7+
its pretty cheap for its specs, but apparently fellow users have alot of problem with it.
so i will probably look at Asus A8Sc or the Fujitsu Esprimo v5545Vb.
Both brand promoters not very willing to give out freebies. :(
Any advice?
