cannot listen to radio online

suddenly my comp cannot tune in to online radio (e.g 987, lush fm). when i access the thing the standard window's media player thing appears but when i click play it starts buffering for a split second then it stops.
i also tried this app for windows sidebar to play local radio stations but when i click play i cant hear anything even though visually it says that the app is playing (no my speaker isnt off
). -

I m listening to 98.7fm through wmp now.

Windows Media Player says, "Loading"

Windows Media Player buffering or halting the streaming content

The player is probably experiencing network congestion. This means that there is not enough available bandwidth to stream the selected file. When you are using a TCP connection, the data in the player's buffer is used to supplement the stream until the buffer is used up. As soon as the buffered data is gone, the player pauses, replenishes the buffer, and then resumes playing by using the new buffer to supplement the playback stream bandwidth. This cycle continues until network conditions improve.
Try again when the network is less congested, or select content that is authored for lower bandwidths. Another option is to make sure that the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) is the only protocol that is selected in the Options dialog box. To set this option, click Options on the Tools menu. This option reduces buffering, but it has the adverse effect of dropping data if there is high congestion or insufficient bandwidth. If you are located behind a firewall, you may not be able to use UDP as your protocol.

I wonder if the same thing occurs if you use IE or Firefox to access it. Or whatever browser that supports the WMP plug-in.

i have problems streaming 98.7on firefox on my other computer.

firefox always has problems regarding the use of windows media player. imo, use an external player to listen to streaming content.
as for TS, make sure no there is no program or blocklists in your computer blocking mediacorp websites.

maybe u can try using winamp (wmp oso can but since u say got problem)
File > Play/Open URL
type in this http://www.987fm.sg/asx/webcam987.asx and press ok
for lush 99.5fm type in this http://www.lush995.sg/asx/fm995.asx

U can try using MC radio gadget for Windows Sidebar.its a handy uitility that act like a internal radio,getting it's sources from online stream of the radio stations.

No idea, Windows is one odd ball.
Download CCleaner and clean off all temp files and cache, then try again.
