Help!
My laptop battery suddenly went dead on me. I don't know when did it happen. I've checked the power options in the control panel, but it says the battery is not present. Is my battery dead? Or did something else happen?
My laptop is only a little more than a year old leh! The model is Sony VGN-SZ38GP, if it helps.
Thanks!
p/s: will anything happen if my laptop keeps running on ac power but without the battery?
SONY-spoilt only next year
You dunno meh?
Okay lar. Actually my laptop(3years plus old) is also surviving on just ac power for the past 1year plus. The battery spoilt liao also. Just remember to shut down the laptop when you switch off ac power.

i google liao and got people oso say sony one will liddat leh.
but wah, sure anot?

Use Thinkpad :D
I think Sony cares more about perfomance, advertising and elegance. They dont give much damn about durability. I think only lar. Dont wanna get sued.

I thinking whether I shud get a T61 now, or wait for T62 for uni laptops... Can ask pple help buy de...
Nope. There should not be a problem running on Ac power without any battery.
If you are always on the go with your laptop, i would suggest fixing your battery pack.
if not, just run it like a normal desktop.
That's a relief man. I always take out the battery and use ac power when at home, cause I thought it wasn't good to use battery and plug in at the same time.

I agree with you. It is not good to use the battery and to plug in at the same time. it will reduce the life of the battery.
However, taking it in and out, might spoil the connecting pins of your laptop.
